Anna Delvey achieved several years of pretence among the elite in New York as a rich heiress from Germany. One of the most interesting chapters in her story, though, is the one that deals with the lawyer she employed after prison, Audrey A. Thomas. An assertive, vocal lawyer who represented her controversial client with vigor, their association is full of lawsuits, disbarment, and one of the shiniest lawsuits in recent history.
Who Is Anna Delvey

She was born Anna Sorokin in Russia and pretended to be a rich German heiress who bankrupted more than two hundred seventy-five thousand dollars, majoring banks, hotels, and friends in New York City.
Convicted and Released

In 2019, Delvey was convicted of eight felony counts and given four to twelve years of imprisonment. Two years later, she was free on good conduct but was arrested as soon as she was free by the immigration officials.
Enter Audrey A. Thomas

In 2020, Delvey employed Audrey Thomas to fix her immigration status and overturn her criminal conviction. Thomas was vocal, fearless, and very determined to retain her controversial client on American soil.
Saving Her From Deportation

When Delvey was physically sitting at the airport gate with her luggage in garbage bags, Thomas had made an outcry treatment by filing an emergency writ. Such a last-minute legal action managed to help her not be deported immediately from the United States.
The Soured Fast Relationship.

In April 2022, Delvey fired Thomas, claiming that she was not making any progress, and Thomas allegedly declined to work in what she termed her personal month of birthday, during the entire month of April.
The Lawsuit That Followed

In the Manhattan Supreme Court, Thomas sued Delvey on the basis that it was more than one hundred and fifty-two thousand dollars in unpaid legal fees in the legal action, accusing her past client of falsely charging her a lawsuit to make the overdue bill go away.
Delvey Struck First

She had been sued by Delvey previously, before Thomas herself had filed her lawsuit claiming that Delvey had withheld court files, audio tapes, and personal items at that point that he was not required to have handed over before the court-appointed deadline set during which she was required to take possession of the items.
The Disbarment Bombshell

In November 2022, Thomas was disbarred due to his alleged misappropriation of six hundred thousand dollars of an elderly customer in the sale of an apartment in Brooklyn that she was selling as a professional real-estate agent.
No Regrets From Thomas

Even after losing her law license, Thomas was not put down as she sent a blunt message to Delvey in the press, claiming that she would appear before the court, not despite her lack of a Bar, but because she always has the last word.
Two Scammers or One

This is the case of Audrey Thomas and Anna Delvey that leads to one curious question: what is the outcome of meeting a con artist against someone who is equally audacious, equally provocative, and equally willing to never give up discreetly.
